William S. "Bill" Mead


Bill Mead is a Senior Vice President with Wells Fargo Advisors and has been a financial advisor since 1986. Bill was a member of the board of directors of Southern Colorado AIDS Project from 2006 to 2011, serving the final three years as Board President. Bill has been the Colorado Health Network Board President since 2011. Bill is a Founding Board member of Pikes Peak Fund for Tolerance and Equality and a graduate of the Colorado Springs Leadership Institute. Bill is a 2014 recipient of an Indy Inclusion Award from the Colorado Springs Independent in recognition of his work in El Paso County to advance LGBT causes. Bill holds an undergraduate degree from Arizona State University and his MBA from the University of Colorado.

Jeff Thormodsgaard

Vice President

Jeff Thormodsgaard is Vice President and partner at Mendez Consulting, Inc., a Legislative Consulting Firm. Jeff has been a dynamic policy strategist and campaign specialist for over eight years. After graduating from the University of Colorado at Boulder with a double major in Constitutional Law and Political Science, Jeff began his legislative career as a legislative aide for two Alaska State Legislators, with an emphasis in health care and natural resources. After returning to Colorado, he initially worked with the Colorado State Legislature as the legislative aide to the Chair of the Colorado House Education Committee. Outside of the Colorado and Alaska State Capitols, Jeff has efficaciously managed a variety of campaigns, including candidate races, municipal bond initiatives, and defeating statewide ballot measures. At the capitol, he is known for his ability to strategize, negotiate and the tenacity he exudes on behalf of his clients. Jeff has been on the Colorado Health Network board of directors since February 2010.

Rich Corbetta


Rich Corbetta is a full-time faculty member at Arapahoe Community College, teaching law courses. A Denver lawyer since 1991, Rich was most recently a Director at Dufford & Brown, P.C. Rich has primarily practiced in the areas of regulatory and administrative law and civil litigation. In September 2003 The Denver Business Journal named Rich one of the best telecommunications lawyers in Denver and he currently serves as counsel to the Colorado Telecommunications Association. Rich joined Colorado Heath Network’s Board in September 2003, and served as Board President from 2008-10. Rich served on the negotiating team of the board of directors that led to the merger of the four AIDS service organizations that comprise Colorado Health Network, and was also a member of the team that worked to bring Howard Dental Center back into the organization in 2014. Rich currently serves as secretary on the CHN board of directors. Rich holds B.S. degrees in Business Administration and Journalism and Mass Communications and J.D. from the University of Colorado.

Nina Corson


Nina Corson is a Director of Enterprise Master Data for Leprino Foods Company in Denver, Colorado. Nina has been with Leprino since 1987 in various Finance and Information Technology roles. Nina was a member of the board of directors of the Colorado AIDS Project from 2007 to 2011. She joined the Colorado Health Network board as Treasurer in 2012. Nina has also been an active volunteer with the Women’s Foundation, The Leadership Investment and Junior Achievement. Nina graduated from the University of Colorado in 1985 and also is a Certified Management Accountant.

Elizabeth Akalin


Elizabeth Akalin is an active LGBT ally and social justice professional. She spent several years at the Gill Foundation working to advance protections for the LGBT community. Today she continues her role as an ally as the senior relationship manager for EqualityCard® Project. Elizabeth received her master's degree in non-profit management in 2009, and has dedicated her career to improving the sustainability and impact of the non-profit sector. Prior to joining the Colorado Health Network board, she served as board president of Howard Dental Center. During this time she participated on the leadership team that lead to the successful merger of the two organizations.

Stephen Harman


Daniel Reirden, M.D., FAAP, AAHIVS


Dr. Dan Reirden is an Associate Professor of Pediatrics and Internal Medicine at University of Colorado School of Medicine. He has been with the UC School of Medicine since August 2007. Prior to this Dr. Reirden was a physician at The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and a resident physician at The University of Connecticut School of Medicine, where he earned his medical degree. He earned his bachelor of science degree in biology from Fordham University. Dr. Reirden specializes in clinical care and research related to Adolescent Medicine and Adolescent/Young Adult HIV Medicine and has expertise in medical management of gender non-conforming and transgender children, adolescents, and young adults. Dr. Reirden has been on the CHN board of directors since November 2007.
